Updated 2023: How to join Tandem meetings

Tandem has dropped 3rd parties tools for the meetings and it's going to use almost exclusively the internal booking system.

It's simply a raw form to fill in with your email address and some other information useful to better organize the meetings, keep statistics and filter fake booking from the genuine one.

The form is on tandem website booking address https://tandeminternational.waw.pl/subscribe.php

The form look and the all process steps will be improved and simplified with time. However do not have unrealistic expectations about time and results for that.

Tandem is an informal association of polyglots and good will people wishing to practise English and all other languages spoken worldwide and volunteers working for free to let the meetings happen. Participation is always free of charge and everything is always no profit. Tandem has no commercial relationship with any business where we host the meetings. We use all the available suitable and cooperative non greedy venues and we rotate them. We have also stopped publishing their names not to advertise them (for free). However, given the strict rules that we apply we might have a very limited choice that might improve or get worse with time. Therefore there is first of all no customer service, as said Tandem is NOT a business. While a constructive feedback is always wellcome we have learnt with experience to dismiss any complaint, most of which are fake, instrumental and an attempt of disrupt Tandem's activities. Genuine participants do not care about the location of the meeting, care about the opportunity to practise for free. Volunteers also do not have time to deal with psychiatric cases of people who need to be prayed and teased with a red carpet to have their wonderful presence at the meeting to receive our gift for free. We prefer to leave their wonderful presense to language schools or to bars for boozers where they have to pay to participate. Beside that everyone genuinely wishing to practise languages and meet new friends in Warsaw is wellcome. All you have to do is to fill the form and come to the meeting. For your own convenience Tandem has set up detailed instructions and tools to help you to receive information and to find the other participants in any venue.

Tandem is superflexible and resilient and it is able to continue to exist in every condition even if that could reduce the number of the meetings organized during the specific timeframes considered

Warsaw, the capital city of Poland, is a bustling metropolis that attracts visitors from all over the world. With its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning architecture, it’s no surprise that tourism plays a significant role in the city’s economy. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at some of the key tourism statistics in Warsaw.

Visitor Arrivals

According to data from the Warsaw Tourist Office, the city welcomed around 11 million tourists in 2019. This represents a significant increase from previous years, with visitor numbers steadily rising since 2015. Of these visitors, around 80% were domestic tourists, while the remaining 20% were international.

Top Source Markets

When it comes to international visitors, Germany remains the largest source market for Warsaw, accounting for around 18% of all inbound tourists. Other key source markets include the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Italy, and France. There has also been a significant increase in visitors from China in recent years, with the number of Chinese tourists visiting Warsaw growing by almost 50% between 2018 and 2019.

Popular Attractions

There are plenty of attractions to keep visitors busy in Warsaw, and some of the most popular include the Old Town, the Royal Castle, and the Palace of Culture and Science. According to the Warsaw Tourist Office, the Royal Castle alone welcomes around 500,000 visitors each year. Other popular attractions include the Warsaw Uprising Museum, the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, and the Chopin Museum.

Hotel Occupancy Rates

Another key indicator of Warsaw’s tourism industry is hotel occupancy rates. In 2019, the average occupancy rate across all hotels in the city was around 62%, up slightly from the previous year. However, it’s worth noting that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hotel occupancy rates have dropped significantly in 2020 and 2021.
